Course Description

This course is 14 hours long.

Are you a seasoned Rifle shooter? Do you have a passion for training? If you answered yes, this course is for you. It is designed to help experienced shooter learn how to teach.

The instructor candidate will learn how to communicate the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for owning and using a rifle safely. Each instructor candidate will learn to teach about:

• Rifle parts and operation
• Ammunition
• Shooting fundamentals

Shooting exercises will include the bench rest, prone, kneeling, sitting and standing positions.

• Shooting positions
• Sighting-in
• Sight alignment
• Gun safety

We will also discuss other firearm ownership necessities, like:

• Care and cleaning
• Safe home storage
• Legally transporting your rifle

This class is sometimes offered together with Home Firearm Safety. The combination price for new instructors who also need Basic Instructors Training (BIT) is $295.00 for the two day course.
